  • local and patterned modification of wettability or improvement of adhesion to improve digital inkjet, liquid dispensing results.
  • spatial contrast in surface wettability to enable patterned wet coating application by slot die or similar uniform wet coating techniques
  • spatially /area selective wet and gas phase chemistry through contrast is surface chemical groups

The combined process of surface modification and subsequent processing techniques result in solutions for a wide variety of applications in among others biomedical sensors, microfluidics, printed electronics and (backend) semicon.

Electrical discharges – or plasmas – have fascinated mankind for centuries, because of their aesthetical beauty and uncontrollable behaviour. For a few decades now plasmas are being used abundantly in
µPlasmaPrint Technology Basics

Plasma activated molecules can be used to print nano surface modification. The plasma enables the molecules to react with the surface without the need for elevated surface temperatures, hence even at room temperature the surfaces can be modified. In addition only a few nanometers of the surface is modified by the process.
